Lorenzo Cominoli
Lorenzo Cominoli is an Italian guitarist, teacher and composer. His fresh and modern sound, together with his lyrical and original phrasing in the melodic construction, which is intense and innovative, make him one of the most interesting "voices", appreciated by both the public and critics.
His music combines the elegant Italian taste for melody with deeply grounded elements of contemporary jazz.
He has performed in numerous clubs and festivals in Europe, Asia and America. He has played with numerous musicians of the Italian and international jazz scene, such as: Steve Cardenas, Klaus Gesing, Mikael Godée, John Stowell, Rale Micic, Peter Slavov, Thomas Markusson, Nobuki Takamen, Sebastian Merk, Marko Cepak, Sangyeon Park, Yunmi Kang, Bora Celiker, Niklas Winter, Steve Herberman, Jonay Martin Santos, Young Joon Jung, Dayeon Seok, Jesper Bodilsen, Aljosa Jeric, Emanuele Cisi, Attilio Zanchi, Roberto Olzer, Massimilano Milesi, Isabella du Graf, Yuri Goloubev, Andrei Ryabov, Danny Webber, Max De Aloe, Simone Locarni, Maurizio Brunod, Anais Drago and Achille Succi.
Up till now, he has participated in 11 recordings, both as leader and sideman, for some of the most prestigious Italian record labels as well as two recordings and publications entirely made in Finland and Spain.
Student of American jazz guitarist Garrison Fewell (Berklee College of Music in Boston), graduated in 1st and 2nd level Jazz Guitar from the Verdi Conservatory of Como under the guidance of Bebo Ferra. He further specialized following masterclasses with: Peter Bernstein, Gilad Hekselman, Lage Lund.
For the past twenty odd years he has dedicated himself with great passion to teaching with great passion for over twenty years as a teacher of Modern Guitar, Jazz Guitar and Jazz Ensemble Music, Theory and Harmony as well as Music Education in both secondary and high schools. He also regularly teaches Jazz Guitar Workshops in music schools and cultural associations, both face to face and online, collaborating with, among others, John Stowell and Nobuki Takamen.
He is the creator and part of the Pangea Project which involves guitarists from all over the world.
In 2021 he entirely composed and recorded the music for the documentary film on the Olympic Games, "The Longest Year. Road to Tokyo 2020" made by Fastweb (official sponsor of the Italian national team at the Olympic Games).
In 2022, his musical soundtracks were used by Fastweb for the creation of the "Tu Sei Futuro" series, dedicated to some of the major Olympic athletes of the Italian national team, such as Jannik Sinner, Le Farfalle Azzurre, Filippo Tortu, Filippo Ganna, and Simona Quadarella.
